my resonator is leaking so I'm having that cutout and putting a straight pipe in instead, should I delete the u-bend at the same time since it's all there? Right now I'm currently all stock (GT) but I'm putting in a CAI and overkill pcm soon.

Can't hurt if you're already in there with a sawzall and a TIG welder.

If your catalytic converter is old you may elect to get the entire cat'ed down pipe that already has the U-bend deleted.
ZZP sells them for about $200. They're a little cumbersome with the O2 sensor but you could figure it out.

Buy a glasspack instead of just removing the resonator all together.

These cars sound crappy as it is, deleting the res. will only make it worse.

    If they do it?

Don't pay for than 40 bucks or so...you will need to get a new upper donut gasket and catback to DP gasket.

Some of their garbage can be shipped to Canada. Also check the bay.

Way to make the car rasp.

    Good form, schmee.

Even after we told you to not get rid of it.

This new generation listens so well.

It's actually quieter than it was with a leak in the resonator and there isn't that much rasp. The welder was also able to salvage my apparently broken o2 sensor by blasting it with a blowtorch. Before there was an annoying drone in the cabin and now the cabin is silent with the exhaust note coming entirely from the tailpipes.
