Thread: Improving my "launches"

I apologize for bringing to life an older thread, but could rear coil spacers help eliminate wheelspin as well (in addition to tires and proper throttle technique)? Will they damage suspension in any way? I don't mind a less comfortable ride, it's just that I recently squealed my way out of a parking lot trying to make a quick turn. lol

you might be able to run a 2000 olds intrigue spring in the rear. i'm not sure if it will fit in a 2004, but is taller and has a better spring rate. powering through a turn is likely to always have wheel spin. the 2014 chevy cruze I just bought has 140 hp, and will spin the tires in a turn if the wheel is turned enough.

The rear spring rate is more important to prevent "squatting" (i.e. lifting weight from the front of the car and transferring it to the rear of the car). A coil spacer won't affect spring rate. Instead, try to get the stiffest springs and stiffest struts that you can find. On the other hand, if you put loose springs & struts in the front your body will lift up more (which pushes down on the front tires more).
