their is no way that can be price effiecent its like what 500 bucks per 50-100 pounds cut by replacing it with alumimum, parts

Well I'm in 75 bucks in the subframe a front bumper support for 32 lbs, in like 120 for the ga brakes but that would have been cost on new calipers anyway, and the alum bolts and stuff are all free scratch and dent stuff from work, oh and another good bonus about aluminum, IT DOESEN'T RUST!
ok theres no way the egr weighs 3.5 lbs. its solid cast iron. its at least 10, if not 15. same with onstar box.
The EGR isn't that big.
I'm sure it is less than 5 lbs.
youre right, it isnt that big. but its solid cast iron. I bet my left nut its more than 5 lbs
Maybe with the bracket still attached...and the bolts that go into the manifold and the LIM...even then I bet it is close...not that it matters, I'll just remove all the engine pull brackets, the diagonal braces, and the right side done bone/aluminum bracket, alt. bracket and all the other small misc. sh1t and yank 50lbs. off that thing.![]()
Well yes why wouldnt you take the bracket off with it... And you have to keep the bolts for block off plates. I too removed all the unnecessary brackets, but i have a thing about removing stuff that makes the frame less rigid. I hear theres an aluminum coil bracket that you can use with the L36 alum dog bone mount, id like to try that.
The L36 Al coil side dog bone mount shatters.
And if that one fails, and you don't replace it, the other side will too.
based on that: I'd recommend at least one iron coil bracket despite the weight.
