heres how i do it, been doing it this way for 20 years now.

take the metal button that the mirror slides onto off the mirror, well before that take a sharp razor, and scrap off any old glue, then scrape the windshield clean, remove the button, lay a nice amount of crazy glue on the whole side that meets the windshield, (make sure you have it right) then hold it where it needs to be for a minute. important part, dont put the mirror back on for 24 hours. and make sure its all clean before gluing it.

any crazy glue works just fine, last one i did i used the bottle with a brush. and my car sits in direct sunlight all day, its still up there a week later now i guess. only reason it was off is because i knocked it of by accident. but it had been there for a year already, i took it off to install a tint brow. and crazy glued it back up.

The seceret is getting all the surfaces clean. I have had them fall of in my cars and it always seems to happen in summer. Using the mirror glue kits from the auto parts stores, never had a problem with them falling off again. Just take your time and clean off all the old adhesive from all the surfaces and finish with the alcohol.

ive used alcohol and not used it, makes no difference to me. all the old glue must be removed though, even if you think it looks clean its not, scrap it you will see flakes come off.

I had the neighbor kids car defy logic. Literally used 4 kits on it then her step dad did one too. No luck after about a day. Took it to a real glass shop and it hasn't fallen since. Never before did I have that happen. Go to a glass place..tell them the story and they'll do it w/o a worry.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm good with that stuff. I know I prepped it best. Just keeps fallking off and in sunlight like mentioned. But I will try the super glue. If that doesn't work I will go to a glass place. Thanks guys

you can also move the button down the length of the metal button, maybe it needs new glass to stick better?

when i put my brow tinted in, i lowered my mirror under the tint line.
