Ignition switch and cylinder and keys are different things. You just replace your ignition switch, you keep the same cylinder and keys and reuse them.

note, i said bcm not pcm.
Usually when your ignition switch is going out your; climate control only works on max, your headlights will turn off when clim control is on, weird relay clicking sounds inside dash, Dic flickers or goes out all together.

Your car wont start for hours and has a security light and thats it from what youve told us. It could be the ign switch But i think the bcm is a greater possibility.

bcm is expensive for a dealer to do and you need a case relearn. $800.

The ignition switch might be where your key issue is stemming from.

If it were me I would change the ign switch regardless because they are problematic on our cars. if that doesnt take care of it go the bcm route.
The parts by themselves are cheap.
