I have a 2008 GP GXP 5.3L my, i recently installed a new battery and the beginning of Feb. It died on April 13th, i thought it was just a bad battery but then meanwhile on April 13th my CD player quit working (couldn't eject CD's or play them or swithc tracks) as well and my battery died again had to get a jump start, thought nothing of it, the very next day same thing CD not working and dead battery.... I took the CD player out didn't have a problem for 2 weeks so i put the CD player back in and the CD player worked just fin i ejected my cd's and everything was normal. Battery just died last Friday (MAY 4th, put a new battery in it because i thought i had a bad one. then again the very next day SATURDAY May 5th the CD player did the same thing not working and can't eject the cd's and my battery is dead. something is draining my battery I've tested just about everything you can that takes power from battery. I NEED SOME HELP CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE. Could it be a bad CD player unit and that is what is draining my Battery? even with the CD player not working my radio is just fine.

I installed a brand new radio on Thursday May 10th. my battery has held now... but when i start my car it's like the battery is dead and the horn goes off the trunk pops and then i have to turn the key off and try starting again usually starts after 2/3 times of doing this. Could this be my starter? I've tested the battery since Tuesday of install of battery and the battery is just fine..

If anyone has any tips please let me know I'm totally lost

Is your normal drive very short? Your battery might not be getting charged up enough with a short drive and it makes it hard to start when you go to start it again.

Have you tested the alternator? If its weak, your car will draw power from the battery. I had this happen to me in my cutlass the alternator kept getting weaker and weaker untill it completely died. Just a thought....

weak/bad alternators can do some very very goofy things sometimes that arent common. this is kinda weird tho. ive never heard of a situation where someone got a bad battery to where it crapped out in a month. if you were going to throw stuff into it instead of diagnosing properly, you shouldve replaced the alternator instead of getting another battery. unless someone can think of something else better. thats what i would do. ur obviously losing your charge somewhere. theres no reason something should be drawing that much power to where ur battery dies. seems like the alternator simply isnt keeping up.

and really with a healthy alternator, a 10 minute drive should be plenty to when you start it it should start just fine

sounds like your radio is hooked up to a constant power and draining the battery. or is broken and is now drawing constant power.

^ What this guy said. You might have a lose wire and its grounding out. Therefore draining your battery.
