    normal throttle sure, its fine.

Hit PE mode and bad things can happen. So basically dont hit more than half throttle.

well my gtp needle bearings are bad and my s/c makes a grinding noise i already replaced the snout, coupler, rotors and case with a different one so i assume its the needle bearings im not really sure, you guys would know more. i was just curious cause the grinding sound starts to get annoying after awhile its at its worst when its in drive and stopped but you can still here the noise when its in park. i took off my belt just to see if it was the s/c and while it was idling without the belt it sounded fine.

I would check you're idler pulleys, if you've basically replaced everything in the SC.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

you sure? cause the air fuel ratio wont let to much fuel into the engine? i wont be beating on it i don't think ill do it but i might if the idler pulley doesn't solve the problem till i get needle bearings.

Less load on the engine i could see where better mpgs could happen but i wouldn't advise it.

Well, assuming your tune isn messed up, your fuel trims will keep your AFR in check with or without the SC belt on (as long as you dont go into PE that is).

And, with no SC belt, thats less load on the engine...

never experienced this though its all in theory...

I must own that magical GTP. When I pulled the S/C belt off I drove it that way for 6 months. Went WOT plenty of times and the **** never broke. Was piss slow and that's about it. Has anyone actually blown up their car or something doing that? Or are you guys stating don't go WOT cause you actually don't know?

We're saying that because its faster at half throttle than wot due to fueling.

Very well could be it, once you remove the s/c belt...the idler and tensioner pulley are no longer running either. Swap it out and see if the noise disappears.

My idler pulley was making alot of noise on my too a few weeks ago. I pulled off the belt and the noise went away. So as I was driving it a few days after the noise started the belt fell off and rubbed itself bad so I pulled it off. Went to get a new belt a few days after pulling off the old one and just before I go in the parts store I pop the hood and find my idler pulley had blown itself in half. So yeah those go bad. So I replaced it and then spent the next five days trying to find a belt that would fit because I have a smaller s/c pulley. So running without a belt is good and bad. Good because while i did it I got better fuel economy just because I didn't put my foot to the floor because the thing was slow and bad because it was slow and depressing.
