How does taking the cheap ugly badges off your car make your car look cheaper?
I just took off the Grand Prix on the back and the 3800V6 on the sides. I left Grand Prix on the doors. Looks much better.

I like certain badges on certain cars.
Mine? Hell no. The rear end was covered in several dealer badges (all for the same dealer). I don't know what the hell they were thinking. Looked like an 8yr old with a sticker/badge book was let loose upon it.
That was the first appearance mod I did lol.

"Debadged" = You have removed your emblems
Doesn't sound so cool now, does it?
I think it's a stretch calling emblems, badges.
How the heck does removing your emblems suddenly make your car a sleeper? Someone please explain this to me.
"Debadged" = Sleeper, Really?
I'm not a hater...just trying to understand the psychology.
i debadged my grand prix. looks a lot better now IMO. however, i don't have the heart to take the SS badges off the cobalt. i paid damn good money for that, and i will not be mistaken for a base model. thought about removing the GM badges from the sides and cleaning up the trunk though. if i could move the SS badge over to the left of the trunk lid, i'd take the "cobalt" lettering off, and maybe move the "turbocharged" badge to underneather the SS badge. and thank god there's no dealer bullsh!t on it. that would have been the first stuff to come off
I personally love my gtp badges. I would never take them off. If I had a gt or something maybe but just the design of the gtp badge is very nice looking. Looks really good with overlays. I DID however debadge the trunk. Looks much better now. Thought about putting a GTP badge back there but decided that would look to cluttered.
I feel bad when I see GTP badges because the car usually looks like garbage.
No. Next off topic post in this thread will get an infraction. Its been cleaned up 3 times.
Ughhh ok.... I personally like debadged cars better. It does make for an extremely more clean and smooth look. I debadged my buddies ss balt and it looks a lot better. And you can still tell its an ss. I guess it also depends how you'd look at the car afterwards. If you think of it as a sleeper in a sense that nobody knows what it really is until you let them know.
For example, most times if im racing some car at a light, i notice the passenger or driver, depending on what side of their car I am on, looking to see if I have a gtp or gt badge. So I took em off and I'll let them find out.
I didn't mean to offend anyone. Just seeing if anyone shared my opinion. It seems like debadging is one of the first things that people say they are doing, or that is recommended for people to do on this forum. My comment about making the car look cheap, and what made me start this thread to begin with, was when I saw a Grand Prix in town that had everything taken off. I just noticed it as it went by, but it looked like all the badges and the door trim and everything taken off. As it went by I just thought "man that looks cheap". I can see taking off dealer stickers for sure, and like I said before the GM on the newer ones, and maybe even the 3800 on the fender. I don't street race, so i don't have an interest in making the GXP a "sleeper" to sucker anyone into a race. There's plenty of signs to give that away anyway. I think sometimes people mistake "anything different than stock" for "cool". Again... just my opinion
