I was curious if anyone on here has purchased the headers for the 3.4L DOHC, if so do you think it would be worth it?

What headers are you speaking of? I haven't heard of any aftermarket headers available, I always heard you need to custom make them for the DOHC.

Interesting....I am trying to imagine how those would even fit in the engine bay, since the stock stuff is VERY packed tight. I would have to see a picture of those installed in a DOHC already to believe it.

But for a $1000, don't even waste your money. You are better off putting that money towards a turbo.

Where would i find a turbo? I would love to upgrade the engine its just that i dont know much about making my own mods for it, which makes it difficult to mod seeing as how there isnt much after market parts for it to buy. I agree that a grand is quite a lot and looking at how the engines set up the headers would be a pain to put on.

as far as i know, there arent any pre built turbo kits for it. you would have to make your own custom set up.

Depends on the vehicle. How it was taken care of its whole life. Most of the time yes its a bad idea.

The DOHC would handle boost awesomely. As for those headers, don't waste your time, they don't fit right and you have to do a lot of other work, just to get them to fit.

Not a lot of mods you can do to a 3.4l DOHC. If you can find heads, from a 5 speed car, swap those in as they are higher compression, put a cold air intake on it, do a custom tune.

A CAI will give you more cold air, cold air is denser and will give you more power than warm air. The tune I had done to my DOHC I tweaked a bunch of little things. I probably gained some Hp from that.

Replacing your dog bone with ones that have poly pushings, will certainly help you feel like you have more power. Also new spark plugs and wires are a good way to help restore lost hp from years of high milage driving.
