Thread: So I got about 2K

So, I got about 2,000+ saved up and need a trans...how should I do this. I want a TEP but cant do the labor myself due to lack of tools and knowledge and Im in Cleveland, Ohio. Should I take it out myself and ship it and get a friend to put it in, or is it possible someone would do a custom order like this, im not trying to spend over 3K going in circles

With his price and quality trans and only $400 install. Id drive to Ohio from Chicagoish for that.

And he's a really good guy to deal with. I think he can build you one for all of 1300? And it will be extremely reliable

For real I dont even need a new trans(yet) and this has me thinking. OP cant beat that and hes in lives in Ohio already

If so, Id skip it altogether and just buy a junkyard trans.

I want a performance transmission, or heavy duty because I want a cam in the future and some other stuff, Im staying N/A

buy a 4t65 hd trans and get that redone. dont stay N/A if your going to build it AT ALL thats just pointless honestly.

oh alright i thought you meant you were planning on staying N/A forever. if you do plan to stay N/A forever there is no need for a built trans. if you do plan to turbo a built trans is the way to go.

turbo is alot of money to do right and make it reliable

I will buy the tuning software, my friend just graduated OTC in sept. 2011 so we'll get this thing together over time. I'm thinking of a 3250 Stall.
