Umm keep it. The 944 was junk and if you try and dailey it you'll be sorry
I work with a guy that knows a guy with an ls1 944. Two words BAD ASS
944 is a VERY expensive car to keep running. Relative to a grand prix that is.
So if you have to sell your GP to get one, you're not financially capable of owning and operating one.
lol... i love this forum... i was wron with the year it was an 87... 944's weren't made in 78'... but i looked up part prices and said no way cheapest clutch kit $900... also thought about an 89' supercharged 3.8 cougar but then realized it made no power and quickly returned to my quest for the mysterious tick from my 98' gtp... maybe this thread should have been titled "moment of infidelity"
and matt5112, you bring up an extremly valid point thank you![]()
Believe me, I'd love to own one as well.
They make great track cars and can be found relatively inexpensively.
However, looking into modifications and the general cost of ownership, I quickly realized how unrealistic it was.
oh id love to own a 944. its the 924 that are junk. keep the prix, unless you can afford stupid expensive parts.
True 944's were not made in 1978. They were post 1983 to 1990. First with a 2.4 liter engine then 2.5 then 3.0 liter.
I had two. It was like being in love with a ***** you can't stand. ***** magnet but it changes your life in not a very good way. Every weekend mandatory maintanance whether you wanted to or not.
If you have nothing to do, get one, then you will.
