Bought a 2000 grand prix gtp coupe as a parts car. Car is mint except for tranny having no forward.
I just want spare parts to have around. My mom just cracked her windshield so that goes to her. Gonna rip one of the rear wheel bearings aswell. I need a wiper motor, brakes are brand new on it, I need pretty much all of the ac equipment.
It's gonna be better for me to use what i can and sell off what i don't. I work as an apprentice at a transmission shop so its next to nothing to fix it, but i need parts right now for 700$ it was a steal
some times you will find white corrosion around the module itself, ( use sand paper to clean it) and some times you can open the module up and clean it some more.
from what i understand the 3 bolts that hold it down also ground it.
uh hook your battery before playing with any yellow plugs, they are all airbag related and you dont want to set one off by accident.
Rolled my window down past the point of no return. Got pissed at car. Thought about rolling it off a cliff at the stone quarry.
Window works perfectly fine, goes up and down with no hitch in its get along. Except when it gets rolled all the way down.
Then you can't hear the motor work or anything. Now, if you beat the crap out of the door panel, it will finally go up.
Ideas?
Regulator is about shot. Mine did that and I took the door panel and at the base of the regulator the cable was binding in the "all the way down" position. Banging the door panel just knocks it loose so it can function right. Take the panel off but leave the switch wired and watch it actuate at the base and I bet you will see what I'm talking about.
(To D ^ ^ ^ )
Lee took the car so I wouldn't kill it. He got the lights fixed and got window back up. Told me just to not roll it down all the way.
Which I don't do 97% of the time. I can usually remember, hey don't let it go all the way down. I accidentally did it Wednesday but was able to beat the sh!t out of it and it worked...but today I apparently wasn't hitting it hard enough.
He just told me, you can tap on the motor and it'll work (kinda like the starter). Does that still show signs of regulator?
Regulator and motor were both brand new last winter.
