It was my 3rd and 4th; did the fronts on the Impala earlier this year. It's a glorified brake job with four additional nuts/bolts. You're gonna need a breaker bar for sure; the axle nut is rough, and the three bolts holding the hub are difficult to get at. If you do Internet search on "Grand Prix hub replacement" and the first option that comes up will guide you. Find a shop that rents tools, you'll need a 36mm socket for the axle nut, and go ahead and rent a universal puller in case the hub doesn't want to play nice and "fall" off.
i kicked the tire.
you don't need new bolts i've alway just reused the factory ones. not sure about the torque.
i glued a pontiac emblem to my fure cover in the engine... s'bout it.
Drove the typical route to school, but mixed it up a bit on the way back home cause I had to put some gas in it. Other than that not much.
made mounting brackets for intercooler on the Grand am, fabbed drivers side header for turbo
well, not sure exactly which torque you're referring to, but iirc the torque settings for hub bolts are like **96 ft. lb. or something like that. i just gave it all the hell i could, wasn't taking any chances.
and then the brakes i just snugged down good. the axle nut calls for 118 ft. lb. i remember that pretty clearly. and the lugs get torque to 100 ft. lb.
i found all this information on the gm service manual site...
EDIT: **just got the site to load. as it turns out the wheel hub bolts get 96 ft.lb. but like austin and i have said, just use your own judgement if you want. i personally dont feel comfortable enough with only 96 ft.lb. on 3 bolts holding the wheels to the car. BUT every other torque setting mentioned in this post is correct.

<<<Never used a torque wrench...ever.
Drove it to school while it was pouring rain. It sat in the rain all day. Drove it home in the rain and then noticed my headliner was a tinnnnny bit wet around the maplights. Figuring it's the On* antenna so I'm gonna get some silicone or something. Right now the antenna is surrounded by tape![]()
Hooked up my HID HD Harness put in my dome blue LED lights so the whole interior lights are blue. Drooled at Headers sitting in box
swapped yet more parts from the GT like blue lense fog lights and HIDs, found out how to take apart a DIC to replace one friggin bulb, didnt drool at old rusty manifolds
Looked it at like an idiot when the low coolant light came on
i see an lim gasket job in your future
Already did it...my thermostat housing doesnt seal right and it leaks a little bit. One of the bolts wont tighten down because the hole needs retapped.
drove to work with the windows a 1/4 way down and the sunroof half open because even though it was 40 degrees this morning in chicagoland, it looks cool![]()
i fell back in love with it
did a 2 wheel burnout going stright from a stop instead of having to turn the wheel and only get one wheel spin..i was happy for the moment
