New front tires yesterday!! Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical
On a related note, I absolutely hate when people at a shop drive my car.
Put 16.249 gallons of fuel in it. The Low Fuel warning did not even come on until 3 miles before I stopped.
Those are them brand new goodyears that they just came out with I think right???
Curious to see how long they last compared to the last F1's that are overpriced and complete garbage considering they don't last very long.
And I never understand why some shops drive cars after such simple work was done. I never ever drive cars at work after I put tires on. I pull the car in, pull it out when done, the only time I'll drive it is if we did brakes, suspension work, motor work or if the customer wanted us to test drive it for a noise or a certain feeling in the car. I just think they wanted to drive your car because they think its cool and want to rape the gas peddle.
26 mpg isn't terrible, it's not great, but not terrible.
When I went to Ohio for a run for work I averaged around 28 mpg, but I have the 2.93 GT(P) gearing.
I didn't fill up for a long time becuase I haven't had the money, but I kept all my gas receipts and over around 900 miles I averaged 20.9 mpg.
Tire for tune up
I sure as hell hope not. Those plugs and wires are only 15-20k miles and they looked fine when we checked a few weeks ago.
I need to get a new MAF sensor, maybe I will get lucky and that will fix everything.
I also need to get a new cat. Stock one has some loose pieces. Soooo maybe with that I'll do some new muffs, maybe.
Oh, and I didn't fill everyone in....I made a decision on Saturday and I am keeping the car for now. I decided to be a responsible adult and use the money I had saved up to pay off some bills I had. So since I used my car savings....that means no car until I get the savings built back up.
Not sure how long they've been out but I really hope they last longer than the ones that were on it before, which were Michelin.. Pilots I think. And he didn't drive it much, just around the parking lot. He went really fast going on and off the alignment rack though >.>
Also put the screws in my HD lip today so that's finally done.
Cleaned the K&N air filter on our Aspen and i cleaned the TB a little too and well when i was all done and started the car right away the Check Engine light came on. i drove it around my Apt for less than a min and did not even go over 20 MPH since there are speed bumps. but still on, but when i parked pop the hood and checked it all i saw i forgot to put the plug of one of teh air sensors back on. So i pluged it in and trned on the car but the light was still there and i did not rev it or anything or leave it on too long cause its night already and i dont wont to wake up the neighbors.
When i get on the road in a lil bit will the check engine light go away on its own will i have to reset it or something? nothing could be wrong right cause everything was fine until i cleaned the air filter and TB and i know i did everything right. so will it go away on its own or should i like unplug the battery for a bit to reset it and does it matter which one i unplug the + or - ?
It will go away after you have driven the car around 40+ times, normally takes that many cycles to reset itself.
Otherwise you need a scanner to reset it for a quick and easy way.
Unhooking the battery for 30min can do it too, but then you may lose all radio setting and the radio could do into a lock mode. Not 100% sure how those work on Chrysler's, and the whole computers memory will get wiped and may feel kinda funky on the first drive as it relearns certain things.
Got it i think ill let it reset itself and not take out the battery since i dont want the Computer going from a brain power of a 25 yr old to a 1 yr old, lol. But when you say 40+ times you mean after turning it on that many times or like the length of driving cause its going to take him about 15-20 min drive to go pick up my bro right now.
I thought I've read that it could be up to 40 times of just driving the vehicle for more than a given amount of time, so figure 10+ minutes per time.
You could just hit up a autozone or something and ask to use the scanner they have and just reset the code.
YA i think it should away from driving it for a while, and also i would go to autozone and hav them reset the code or let me borrow the programmer thing but. they dont do that over here no more cause of new stupid policy. if they let me then i go get ti cause i live right next to one just 300-400 feet from my house.
But ya ill go right now and see if it goes away from driving and if it bugs my bro that the light is there (Which it will) we will stop by the autozone anyways and see if they still can do it or not anymore at all.
Thanks for the help bro.
autozone here also no longer lets you take the scanner out yourself, nor will they reset a code, cause they are dicks pretty much.
There not dicks. Its actual law they have to abide by if a undercover epa agent goes and asks can use their scanner to reset code that whole Autozone store can be shut down. Its always been that way.
Now you can always rent their loan a tool scanner and reset it yourself but they can't be held liable
3'' downpipe installed, and derpy U-bend removed. Rusty bolts (and my own incompetence that fubar'd one of the gaskets) turned a 15 minute job into a four hour one.
Ya its their policy and law now cause they dont want to be sued or anything. suck thought but ya maybe ill invest in one later in the future.
Either way ya thanks for the help cause it went away by itself just a half an hour after driving and turning it off and on like a couple of times when stopping. Thanks again guys and yes the SUV runs so much better and better throttle response now after cleaning the TB a bit and the Air filter.
