Got my motor together and got it in the car.
ended up getting a few odds and ends parts for it. light covers in the backseat didn't fit. got hood struts for 13$ and a set of 4 tires with 90% tread for 160
I'm paying at least $2100 for a remanufactured transmission to be installed in my '97 GTP! Yay! :/
Drove home... to the grocery store, went to a gas station a ways up the road, they turned off the lights as I was about to pump, then the girl responded she was getting out of work in a minute (about 3 minutes up the road). Regal roared to life w/o a drop going in the tank and grew wings.
While I was bringing my girl from the door to her car the low fuel light started dinging at me. (not uncommon) I made it to a gas station and got about 4 gallons to make it into work and around later today. I'll fill up tonight
That would be a good idea however the car has 171,000 miles on it and I'm not planning on doing any hardcore racing except for the occasional red light lineup.
Still for that price you could do better then a remanufacture stocker. Remember guys often blow their trans even in stock form before they reach 100k.
car-part.com max $400 for a lower mileage. Drop it in over a weekend and then the cost makes sense. Like Danielle said.. our cars are typically not worth a $2k repair.
Is that the price installed?
so far today i took my subwoofers out of the trunk put two tires in it, two in the back seat, changed hood shocks, and put a 10mm bolt on my inside fender well to hold the plastic piece on.
That's bull... your driver seat is touching the rear seat. You can't do that unless they are mounted.
lol i did have to move the d/s seat up and not so reclined, they fit tho. right to the door handles.
I dropped both sides of the folding rear seat. Tossed in 4 18in rims then the tires to be mounted up. Still had room I did use the trunk for the rims and the backseat for the tires though.
Heard my brakes squeak... So ordered GP GXP front calipers and bigger caliper brackets for the rear so I can run bigger brakes all around. If I'm doing the brakes might as well upgrade.
