Well I can tell you this, I'm going to test my brakes real good before doing any traffic driving, since I'm completely flushing/bleeding my brake system as well. Paint will not make my brakes fail, they may be underpowered for a little while. Look at the picture of the rotors after, the two front rotors don't even have a full coat of paint on them, you can see the metal through it. It's only a little thicker than when they have a glaze of rust after a rain. As with my aim, well it's spray paint, it's going to get all over the friction surface since you spray from a foot's distance and paint the hat of the rotor. Why do you think when people paint them on the car, they tape off the entire wheel well?
The rust you refer to when the car sits, would only be the friction surface instead of the entire rotor, which I'm fully aware of.

Yes this picture from the other post shows the 4 outward facing pads being painted because they show when on the car:

now why did you remove it to paint instead of masking it all off and doing it that way? or a brush on kit?

Because for 1 I didn't want any chance of getting paint on the car, it would take a lot of newspaper, 2 I needed to flush and bleed the brake system anyway so loosing the fluid didn't matter to me, and 3 it's so much easier to get all of the rust off when it's off the car. And to add a 4th, I don't mind taking them off the car, it's not hard.

Right, a lot of people like painting them on the car. To add a 5th my brakes really needed an inspection and lube. After unthreading the bottom caliper pin bolt on the left front caliper, the bolt wouldn't even come out. I had to use a chisel and a hammer to hit it out, and I found out it was all rusty. A wire brush and some new silicone paste will get it working nice.

I use silicone paste on the caliper sliding pins because its very high temp, lubricates well, doesn't dry out, and is very water proof. I did recently buy anti seize, and it will go on the anti-rattle clips that the pads go onto. The person who did the brakes before me actually did use anti seize on the caliper sliding pins, but he must not have done the bottom bolt I was talking about. The others were fine. That's just my preference.

    Very waterproof....

    If it's waterproof it's waterproof....

Otherwise it's just very water resistant

I'm just playing with ya! Good job on the calipers my man!

Just finished replacing the rear suspension. Can't wait to do the front. Just having the rear done it rides SOOOOOO much nicer.

i use synthetic brake grease on the sliders, and the metal slider clips at the ends of the pads. its what your supposed to use. its hi temp as well, wont break down.

it comes with most better brake pads in a ketchup like packet. or you can buy it in larger sizes, or the packs of ketchup size at the az counter for like a buck.

That's what I was about to buy until I started talking to other people. Besides, silicone paste isn't easy to come buy unless you get it online.

Stealthee, hope this helps you sleep at night.

Now most know that I keep my racing to the track but today some assclown in a Honda decided to test my GTP. Small road course run through a industrial park. The course was just shy of a mile. Finished 13 seconds ahead of the Honda. Was the GTP that much faster? Maybe. Did the other driver get outclassed. Absolutely

Anyone with a coupe had better luck with certain window regulators over other brands? It seems I'm having to replace them yearly. I know either way they suck, but looking for suggestions on less suckier ones.

Danielle, check your door tracks. Replacing regulators yearly is not normal. I use Dormans at my shop and don't see that kind of return/warranty work on those regulators

What should I look for being abnormal in the tracks? They both go up and down fine, just gotta watch how low you go or driver wont come back up. Both are very picky when it's cold too. Passenger side can be a little slow from time to time.

I don't use my windows much and rarely need to have them go all the way down, but it is annoying having to wait for an eternity for them to roll back up.
This last time we replaced them we did both regulators and motors.

I can try pulling door panels this weekend to see if I can find anything if I know what I'm looking for.
