What did you do to your Car today?

picked up some goodies today,

so i get to the the part out guys place, and the car is a wreck! i mean the body and interior are shot bad.

he had no key for the trunk, and had to remove the back seat to get in the trunk to undo the lock, i tell him i dont really want the trunk its self, just the spoiler and the tail light across the trunk, so he says 40 and take the whole thing, i say ok. now it wont fit in the car, so off all it comes, the air bag and wheel are in ok shape, so he says 20 for them both. ok! he starts to remove it and cant figure it out, says i bet i can get the whole column out faster, and does.

so i got a spoiler, the red tail light across the back of the trunk and its the light up kind, took all the harnesses for it too, 2 molding bars that are not anywhere i can find, a door handle insert, and a special screw and spacer that holds the door spring clip on the front of the console's door, (regal owners know) and the whole steering column, with the multi switch (directional) the ignition switch with the key, the intermediate shaft and all the wires to and from it, complete. all for 60 bucks, best deal yet, cant find a air bag for under 80 for this car, the tail light is 50, the wheel is 50, so i made out.

this tail light is getting tinted black as night, and the corners will be closer to a cherry, not to dark, more smoked i guess. seen pics and it will look great.

the spoiler is just sitting on my trunk, its not bolted up yet. and it needs some of that there buffing done to it.

the tails wont be done for sure, but the wheel should be on and hopefully the spoiler will be on.

now i need fitment photos for the spoiler, i forgot to take pics of how it sat on the old car.

why wont the tails be done?

i need a garage to do it in thats dust free, and that i dont have right now. or a warm no wind day witch i know wont happen while i have time to work on it, soooooo, it will happen when it happens i guess. nice to have the one extra to work on tho.

and it lights up,( parking lights only i think) that was like a extra bonus, i haven't seen any of them for sale at all.

not necessary, you dont need a "dust free" place to spray tint. just do it and get it over with

nope..well not tails
ive sprayed just about everything so its all the same and it should be easier since you do it in light coats and go real slow so i would think its easier then a reg rattled can job

ok then, maybe this weekend if your free, ill have to see what the old lady has planed too, she gets cranky when i dont see her all weekend lol

ill need to put together a shopping list of stuff to get to do it too.

put a couple stock shock/spring combos back on the GT, its been 3 weeks time to drive that thing again, i misss the MPGs! should be done and driving tomorrow

Shinned it up real good from roof to rims.

Replaced the valvebody gaskets with the RIGHT ONES so the GTP was driven today for the first time in 9 months on the road. Long story. It was benched in March for a final drive ring gear that had chipped teeth so it kept eating differential planetary gears. Pulled the whole trans apart and replaced the final drive ring gear, get it all back together and take it out for a drive. Guess what, only has 2nd and 3rd gears. Lesson learned here, OEM valve body gaskets don't like to be coupled with an updated spacer plate. There was at least a half dozen holes that were covered over by the OEM gaskets. All it took was a quick email to Trannyman Dave and I got a bonded Valve body gasket set sent out. I'm so happy to be driving my GTP again.

you got a sunroof? mine is doing the same thing (leaking from the dome light)

Yea but nothing else is wet

Did the 99+ TB upgrade on my 98 GS. Copied the maf calibration and VE table for a 99GS to the PCM as well as they're different.
