... well... took the 98 gt to the shop to get new brakes tires and an oil change..... they called jim (fiancee's dad) and said the entire brake system is shot, one of the motor mounts is busted needs a new right axle boot and apparently the oil is 9000 overdue... actually only 2000 but whatever. Jim is thinking about selling the old girl for junk price and giving me his parents old Sable which has 60,000 miles on it.... but I don't know how I feel about not driving a gp..... any opinions on the Mercury Sable? Other than it being a granny car?

ford mercury and Lincoln same crap. the ford is bottom of the barrel, the merc is more solid, more sound deadning material used, nicer interior. the lincoln is well a town car is all i guess now lol

.... say wut? That is like saying the GMC pickup is the classier version of the Chevy truck. They are the same car with the same parts available and interchangeable between them. For the most part that is. Explain the multitude of differences between Fords Crown Vic, the Mercury Marauder, and the Lincoln town car. I'll wait.

all of the brakes are shot we've gone through two axle's in the last year because the axle is sitting on the frame due to the motor mount oil change was late and blah blah blah 2300 total work that needs to be done at the shop so he's just gonna junk it cuz he bought the damn thing.... i just dont care this one was just to get me through until mine is done and i'll just drive the damn ford until then if i must. but whatever, is what it is. **** happens then you die.

its all made by the ford motor company. same crap all day long really. and the taurus and sable are the same damn car, sable is a nicer more expensive version of the taurus.

just like GMC and Chevy, and olds, and Buick and Pontiac and Cadillac are made by general motors. <<<<< lots of interchangeable parts there right?

and GMC is a nicer version of the chevy truck, it also cost more.

It does cost more. But its only nicer to the person who like it more. I personally like the difference in the headlights and grill of the GMC, but the tail lights are the same and swappable. Same motors between them, same tranny options, transfer-cases, rear axles, seats, dash, wiring is the same. Besides the emblems, headlights, fenders, they are the same. Wheels and grills are specific but interchangable.

Consider you can take a 98 Chevy Suburban, change the front end to a 03 Escalade and nobody will know the difference from the front or side.
That is my point. They sale higher, but doesn't mean its "better quality" People think it is because its more expensive but reality is its the same parts that go bad in the cheaper ones.

I sale the same Chevy parts to Cadillac Escalade drivers that ask if its a problematic part because they heard they go bad. They scratch their heads when I tell them that 90% of the "Cadillac" parts interchange to Chevy and GMC

i agree, the GMc grill looks much better then the chevy grill, i cant get past the solid bar across the middle, its out dated and ugly.

the Chevy tail lights are terrible at best. those bubble pop out lights look like crap. where gmc stayed smooth.

and as you can see im a GMC fan lol my 03, miss this truck, it had some balls to it.
