Re: What did you do to your Car today?
so it took 12.830 to fill the tank back up, and that comes to 12.2 mpg avg. and that blows a donkeys dick.

Any 97-03 GP air compressor will work but trust me it's worth it to get a new one from advance versus pulling a junkyard one, cause you'll have to crawl under the car to reach it. They're like $130 at advance versus 200 at autozone or oreilly's.

The thing is I have no problem doing it myself plus the junkyard here will let me bring it back if it doesn't work and get another one, also wat do I need to evacuate the freon that's already in there

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
you can crack a line and stand back.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I meant crack it open as in loosen up the line to the compressor. Or you can buy a vacuum pump and pump it out.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
He means crack a line loose.
You can always take the car to a garage to does AC service and have them evacuate the system properly, then do the swap, then go back to the shop and have them put your freon back in and top it off.

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Or you could open the low port and let it hiss out. Also it will be cold anyway purge the system just fyi
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
yes, lets all encourage the guy to dump r134a into the atmosphere.. no it isn't as bad for the ozone layer as r22, and r12 were but still.. its not good..
accidents happen sure, but intentional, no cool...
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Its not the rest of us have fancy recovery system like you mr. So we make do. If he was ohhhh idk an ac repair person then maybe I would expect more... just saying

Right away smoke came out of the back side of the motor, I tried more smoke but couldn't get any more to come out which was weird. So I hooked the air compressor right up to the vac line with an air gun, and could feel the air coming out. Turns out that a bracket I removed from the LIM had a bolt that goes into the head. Little did I know that the bolt hole goes all the way through and into the valve cover area, so there was a bolt hole open to the crankcase, allowing water in when I sprayed the engine. So I got the bolt back, cleaned it up and rtv'ed it, and put it back. It's all good now. Then out of curiosity I put air in the intake afterwards to check for any other leaks, I heard one in the front of the engine, eventually finding out it was the oil filler cap o-rings don't seal well after a few psi is in it. Not a big deal to me.
Got a picture of said bolt? Just curious where it is to make sure I didn't take the same bolt out when I did Matts lim gasket.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
It's the one in the middle of the head that holds a bracket or evap on.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Will a Buick with the same motor as a 98 Grand Prix have the same ac compressor
