5 year old gas has always worked well for me. Oddly enough ... all my friends are the ones that have trouble leaving gas over the winter.....and they put in stabilizer. Efffff that stuff. I've never gummed a carb or injector and never used that stuff. Hmmmm

Interesting point Cam.. If it's dry storage, there shouldn't be an issue though.

when you come back toss a new set of tires and battery and oil change and drive on.
This is what my dad just did. He ended up with a 97 Olds 88 that literally sat in a garage for at least 5 years w/o being touched. I dropped in a battery and we fired it up, less than 5 min later we drove it. Sure the LIM's needed to be done as well as VC gaskets. NP.. Got some fresh tires on it too.
Me.. I might put it on blocks, pull the battery (cause it'll be crap when you return.. no reason to leave possible corrosion anywhere in the area) toss a cover over it and close the door.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I'd left it at work the last few days and taken the truck home since I've been over to the ohio fields. I finally took it home last night and it hit 147k. I didn't see it till this morning.

She needs a bath really bad. All the rain hasn't been friendly on trying to keep a white car clean.

Haha, this is why I have trust issues with shops. I know not all of them are bad but I expected a dealer to do a better job.

Didn't do anything exciting, filled up the tank with $55 worth of premium, then drove my dad to the airport at 6am.
Got to see a C17 sittin pretty at KCI. Also got to watch a C130 take off right in front of me. Needless to say my day has been made.
Oh, btw, I love airplanes just as much as cars :)
And at least I didn't do what this guy did to his Lambo..

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Just got home from Springfield, picked up a 130k (lowest mileage in the yard) transmission for $67 after tax. I dropped the pan before I pulled the transmission itself, and it was actually pretty clean for 130k. The pan itself was about 80% clean, there was a few splotches of material, and the magnet was covered in material (normal amounts). The accumulators and everything up in the transmission is very clean, no material on that stuff at all.
After that I went to the local transmission shop and bought a set of the GXP chains, VB\CP(both sides) gaskets, and a new thrust washer set. All that was $53.19 out the door. I literally just got home, so I'll be adding pics here in a little while. So far, minus the fluid I'm ~$130 into this project. I've spent more on the damn valve body than I did on a new tranmission, lol. It's out of an 2002 GT BTW. I'm swapping everything over to make it work in my GTP, don't worry.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Your a pro with your Trannies :)
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I'm getting there, apparently practice makes perfect, lol. There's a few things that I'll be doing to this one that is new territory for me though, like the HD swap and the chain\gear swap. I'm sure it's nothing I can't handle though. I just went out and snapped a few pics, I'm going to mount the transmission to my work bench tonight and possibly tear into it tomorrow, but the install happens next weekend.

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
it was a 98 and it's long gone. It'll be fixed by sunday.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I know this ain't nothing compared to trans and head gasket woes, but realized how dirty this thing was after emptying out the change.
Held in by one 1/2 x 1/2 double sided tape. greased it good.
