The transgo would probably make the normal shifts like your current ones with the perf shift, and perf shift would be an additional kick with it.
Today my friend brought his new to him 2002 kia sportage to check it out. Not my taste in a car but he got it for a good deal, it was shipped from canada since his cousin was selling it. $3300 total after canada and mi taxes, and cost of the vehicle and it has 76k miles. Not too bad really. It has some rust on the body, and every bolt is rusted tight on the thing.
His headlights stopped working recently, later found out they were just really dim but in the sunlight we couldn't tell. Fuses were good, checked the bulbs reluctantly since when do both go at the same time? They were good and checked for voltage at the connector and got 12v..weird, but saw the connector was corroded. Checked the other side and it was the exact same thing, but that one got really hot and melted the connector. Weird both connectors were corroded and caused both lights to go out at the same time. Bought 2 new connectors and soldered them in, used plenty of dielectric grease on the contacts, and they're good as new.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I busted the PC out to do the work truck. Didn't get done because I didn't get started til late, but it shouldn't take me long to finish up tomorrow.
I did polishing compound on the orange pad over 3/4's of the truck and realized I was going to have to use rubbing compound on the yellow pad over the passenger side to try to get rid of the stubborn scratches. I ran out of light so I called it a night. Only have to do rubbing compound on the passenger bedside then just go over the truck and see what else might need the more aggressive stuff, then go back over that stuff with polish, then a quick wash to get any residue that might be left over, dry with the chamois and then a coat of wax.
I was able to fix the passenger mirror and get it reattached so that saves on having to buy another one.
I plan on trying to claybar the GP over the week sometime, then I will get it all buffed out sometime soon.

I'm just using Turtle Wax brand for now. No need to go hog wild for a work truck that isn't even mine. I bought some Mother's Carnuba wax and California Cleaner wax to use on the GP. I'll probably see how the Turtle Wax brand compounds do on the GP before I worry about spending more money on more expensive stuff.

Considering what I did by hand with the Turtle Wax brand compounds I think it will be alright.

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
check the first buff job out in my ride thread, ( in the sig) thats all turtle wax compound and paste wax from the old school can
love that stuff. its cheap and will last 6 months if not a year most of the time. use a buffer and its even better.

Also realize if you are using rubbing compound you should probably follow that up with polishing compound before you wax to get the best finish.

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Navy, thanks that sounds like what I want. Gonna check on a kit next week before I drop pan. I saw where you whittled away at the old truck, keep at er.
We had a strange one on that Trailblazer I fixed. Dash vents no worky after the repairs. Cust figged it out before leaving so we checked into it, made no sense. I hopped on the web and first search result said 06 Trailblazer actuators inexplicably seem to always go bad after a battery disconnect. We had the neg cable off and on a few times. I was very glad to be able to show the search result to the guy right on the spot, and we did do an HVAC re-learn procedure to no avail. So that was messed up but unrelated. Inconvenient!
I use 3M super duty complound and Meguiar's # 82 swirl free polish for everything from cutting fresh paint to bush scratches. On a rotary buffer and with wool pad for compounding. Not for everyone, but both work well by hand also. Quick cheap choices I made when I needed. Wax I don't give a hoot about, I use some $1 garage sale toyota sealant, lol. Works as turd polish.
Just cruised the GTP, kids on a ball court in a park nearly 100 yds away heard the whine and turned heads. Not many bugs out tonight. Excellent.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Blew a rear tire on the way back from the Dells at around midnight. Looked for a spare tire, and found out the GXP comes with an air compressor in place of a donut. Had one of my friends that was along call his dad and bring us a donut from their Bonneville, since we were only 5 miles away. The pavement in that section of road is absolutely horrible.

There is no wax on that. That is just rubbing compound and polishing compound done by hand. Compound is to get swirls, scratches, imperfections out of paint. You wax after you compound.

Both of those pictures are taken in the shade. The truck was so scuffed it was ridiculous.

I knew that I just meant I took long enough with the wash and wax A have the compound I wanted and B have the time
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
this is just compound too. see the left tail light how clean it looks, and the center tail section is al dull and nasty.
you can also see the shine rounding the bumper corner.

Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Since I have some down time between waiting on fields....I decided to try and clean the wheels on my work truck.

After, same wheel

I was pretty impressed. That was all with Poorboys Spray and rinse wheel cleaner, and minimal scrubbing. You really dont even have to scrub with that cleaner....these wheels are just so bad I had to a little in the corners.
It doesn't look to bad all cleaned up

Already put 120 miles on before noon. By the time I get home tonight it'll be another 100ish probably. My car got to stay at work for the day/night.
