Are your winter wheels still torque stars?

No. They are these ugly things.....

The black makes them tolerable, but I still hate the design.
Put my new cat back on. Sounds good!
Light scuff with the red pad and two coats of Plasti-Kote wheel paint.....

Today my parent's van (2003 dodge caravan) got "stuck", they told me the wheels lock up and you have to floor it to eventually get it to go, and it goes with a huge clunk. Hmm well the rear brakes have been squeaking lately.. Well my dad is positive it's from the front because he heard the front tire spin before it broke loose (Which I didn't understand that reasoning).
So I go to where it's parked with my mom (to drop me off) and I put it in drive and at 1/4 throttle it finally goes with a huge clunk, my mom was standing next to it and said it came from the back, so I bet it was the shoes worn down to metal or something. I had no previous record of the rear brake service, and it's at 82k. So I order new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and a hardware kit. Total cost was $160 ish, and the guy gave us a 10% discount just for asking for it lol.
I try to get the left drum off but absolutely couldn't because the one shoe kept grabbing the drum, I finally open it enough to see, and the retaining spring is completely gone from the spot and the pin could be pulled right off...well it looks like that may be the cause. I finally get it off and I see the retaining spring was rusted off, and the wheel cylinder is leaking. The drums and shoes were still not bad but soaked in fluid...well since I had everything I just went ahead and replaced everything on both sides. The drum brakes on this van are more complicated than most and it took me a while to get everything back together without it all falling back off, and as usual the right side went a lot faster since I had experience with the left. Took me a while to do but did a good job, anti-seized the backing plate contact points, e-brake pawl stud, and the adjuster threads. My dad helped me manually bleed, then I adjusted them.
The test drive proved that the issue is gone, brakes worked real well, I drove around the block going 30 mph and slamming on the brakes, a lady was looking at me from inside the house at the door as I did it in front of her house. She probably thought I was crazy or something lol. My mom still won't drive it 8 miles to her job lol, she wants to drive it around town first to make sure..okay whatever. She's just gonna keep driving the impala until then.
Pretty easy job though, I almost had to flare new lines because the wheel cylinder lines almost twisted with the nut, I just kept using penetrating oil and twisting it back and forth quickly but short distances.
Hit 103k and blew another speaker.. Now down to only 1 working speaker. And I got to truck out before the rain hit! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/03/8yja5uby.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/03/u5aty6yr.jpg
I'm starting to compile my list of parts for the F100. My summer project this year will be to restore it :)

Budget awesome ness. I have had 3 sets all diff sizes for 3 applications and I don't think I would buy a diff 6x9 unless I was looking to amplify
I gave you all the speakers I had clay lol
That was one of the very few things that car had going for it..
it also had metal lim gaskets and new vac lines....:hide:
And a tune from Dan haha. I sold that car with the masking tape still on some of those vac lines lmao.
Someone come change my speakers...
