Might want to use the marine graded one so it doesn't leak
I just wiped my buddy's down. And it has stayed since the beginning of summer
break cleaner would be fine. just make sure its dry and clean and scuff it if needed. marine grade would be used if you really want to sleep well at night knowing it's not going to break.... would be a little over kill IMO.
cool, thanks guys.
Scotty you didnt know how to use jb weld
Sorry, I didn't forget about you man. I had to make my chow run.
The video shows yep, exactly how thats done. But they don't show pressure testing it after installation. Notice they use the nylon rod for that because theres not really a rod that matches that plastic close enough to become one with it. Plastic welding or epoxy either way will eventually fail one day, if it ever seals to begin with. These guys are telling you right about the prep. But if its below the water line when cool where yours is broken, of course the best repair would be with the radiator out and not leaking thru your repair as you try to fix it.
ive used it on nothing that had to hold air and or water pressure. just making small plastic parts hold again.
did a nice repair on the lower dash panel under the column, made a new push clip tab, and JB'ed it on there.
I let it dry didn't even wipe it off and slapped the jb weld on. I put a lot on
Good luck with it Scotty. The longer you can let it cure, the better. Also if your JB is a year or two old and has been opened, you might get some fresh. I was alarmed at how inexpensive new radiators are, maybe it won't have to last a real long time.
ill change it down the road. just not ready to do it yet if i can patch it up for a while.
ive been hunting parts outs for a few parts, if the rad is cheap enough ill be snagging it. got 2 cars on the hook but both guys are being flakes. the one car is at a body shop, so i could just pop in on him.
Being that's its winter I doubt he's trying to replace the radiator now lol. JB weld is cheap and worth a shot.
its been rather cold lol yeah thats the ticket.....:th_thumbsup-wink:
the tubes i got are a year old maybe, unopened. whats 5 bucks?
Yeah January makes it nearly impossible.
if i had one sitting here i would have done it today right on the spot. it was 50 out today.
I replaced the radiator in the Eldorado about 3 weeks ago.
In my garage...
With a big Kerosene heater.. lol
pull your regal in that garage and fix that clicking sound will ya....your making the regal owners look bad.
I'm working on it. I need some freaking money first lol. And to figure out exactly what it is. I guess I'll do my passenger side CV axle and see what happens.
Tried to use it, got stuck in the mudpit of a back yard. Had to take the Explorer instead :(
Quick wash and wax on the CSC and then back into storage.
