So the more I've been around this community, the more I'm learning that some of the best mods address cooling the intake temps. I don't have the money to intercool, and am wanting to swap to E85 in the future. But for now, I have a Hot air intake, which I figure is worse than the stock air box in regards to intake temps, but I wanted to hear the blower. So a few days ago I decided to unscrew the driver side fog light. My thoughts are that at least some of the air will make its way into the engine bay. Prior to doing this, I ran the car, popped the hood, and put my hand on the air filter. It was very hot. After opening up the fog light area, running the car, then touching the filter, it is now cooler (at least I believe it is).
Just seeing if anyone else has tried this, and if they have noticed any similar results. I plan on making some tubing to try and direct the air into the engine bay to see if that helps further. In my mind, by doing this, I am creating a hybrid HAI/FWI.
What are your all's thoughts?
