Most of the world wouldn't really care. But I just drove my '04 GP to Michigan and back, and got some fantastic "performance" numbers:

    Tank 1: 34 MPG
    Tank 2: 36 MPG
Tank 3: 30 MPG (included local driving near my vacation spot)
    Tank 4: 33 MPG
    Tank 5: 32 MPG

So - I drove about 2,100 miles on 5 tankfuls.

And BTW I passed 290k on original drivetrain. Not to mention, the interior and exterior of my car look amazing- I could easily tell an uneducated person that my car is less than a year old.

    Love these cars.

    Way to go bobc!
Did you use cruise control the whole way?
    What speed were you driving?
I thought I did good on an 800 mile trip
    When I got 27 MPG.

As much as possible, yes - I tried to keep the speed under 65MPH (mostly 64). I would adjust speeds (faster or slower) when traffic warranted, but I was able to make a lot of the trip at 64MPH.

That is awesome! I average 12-13. LOL. On E85, 100% stop and go city driving. Average speed on the DIC is 12 mph.

I can't wait to see what my Lancer gets when I take a trip to Norwalk later this month. I've been getting 27 mpg on my day to day trips. I might see well over 30 mpg.

Not sure if you're talking to me or someone else, but a few months ago I flushed and re-filled with fresh DexCool. Kinda kicking myself, but that's what is in there. Also I have a 180-degree T-stat to cut down on knock in the hot weather (I switch back to 195 for winter).
Average speed on the DIC is 12 mph.
    Getting 12MPG at 12mph isn't bad...
For whatever it's worth, on GM cars in general I see the DIC to indicate MPG about 6-8% higher than real world actual MPG (odometer reading vs. pump reading). My measurements were all pump/odometer based MPG, not DIC.

Nope. I was the one sitting in traffic behind 10 million other yuppies picking their kids up from school/daycare. LOL.

I ended up tuning my DIC to get it reasonably accurate. But it still isn't that accurate especially running E85 with different blends depending on time of year. I can get about 19-20 mpg on the expressway on E85 but never been on a long trip to calculate it accurately. Figure that is about 25 mpg converted to gasoline.
