Has any one used the ZZP PCM 1.0 Tune? That's whats in my car, 2002 GP GT. Everyone on w-body has said that those tunes are crap. I didn't think much of it until I watched the knock retard while doing about 75% throttle at 60 mph. highest it got was 6.5 but was switching back and forth between 4.6 and 6.5. Has anyone else had issues with their tunes?

cool club huh? kr will come and go with throttle or the timing its set to as it raises and lowers with the rpm's.

    whats your mod list?

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

so basically stock. headers might help out with the kr.

Yeah stock haha. The KR is making my car slower instead of faster

zzp likes to turn the timing up to 18º on most of their tunes, that might be to much with out better flow mods.

if you still have the stock pcm, pop it back in see if its less kr.

Ok that's a good idea I'll try that out this weekend. I hope that's going to help it.

What is Knock Retard? What does 18 degree timing mean?

kr is bad, if you have to much timing it will knock, knocking can chip pistons, so you want none or as little kr as possible. stock timing is 15-16 wot top of the rpm's.

for every degree of kr the pcm see's, it will cut out 2 degrees of timing, making it fall on its face in an act to save its self from the kr.

so if you have 6 to 8 degrees kr, the car will feel pretty weak due to its only running on 5 degrees timing when the kr kicks in.

Huh interesting. I still haven't heard back from ZZP I'm hoping they aren't ignoring me. I may send them an email tomorrow again if I don't get anything. Car feels powerful but that's probably because it shifts 2 gears when you punch it and end up in higher RPMs
