There is a crush bent gasket in there. It's not reusable. Did you take it apart? If not, maybe one of the bolts fell out, or the flex is broken. Can you try to pinpoint where the leak is coming from?

busted stock flex then, you need a new down pipe. if you can weld, or have a shop near by you can either buy a catted dp, or a one with out a cat, then cut your old one out and weld it in the new dp.

For the price of removing it you can get a new down pipe with the cat and replace it yourself. Easy job.

Sounds like someone replaced the factory cat and used clamps instead of welding it in. There shouldn't be any clamps connecting the cat to the downpipe.

yeah, its been rigged, time to get it fixed right. you need to take all that bs off, then un bolt the main flange off the rear manifold, then the two cat back flange bolts.

I just don't know what to do right now cuz I can't afford the Cat and all that stuff at the moment..do u think if I get some exhaust weld, take off the whole cat/pipe,and seal the **** out of the flex...do u think it could be a temporary fix?

not a chance it will hold up. if you can weld tho... looks like someone put the real mesh flex in there and rigged it up some how, pic is hard to see clearly whats all done rigged up there.

see if you can get a better pic of the whole mess. maybe you can use band clamps and rtv on it.

the messed up thing is that I just found out yesterday that the used car lot that sold me the car sold it to me with it having a failed inspection... that's probably why I haven't gotten my title, license plates and stuff in the mail yet.. isn't that ILLEGAL as hell? I even got the record from the DMV..

new plates can take a week or so, title too. all comes as one time here.

maybe you can get them to fix it. after all, you just bought it, and it wont pass inspection.

see the obd2 part. its got nothing after it, like saying its ready or not, so maybe the power port fuse is bad and that takes out the power to the obd2 port. if they cant scan it, thats a auto fail in most states.

the obd port works fine...I have a code scanner...they inspected it on February 10th and I bought it on the 28th...I called them right after the first issue came up and the person told me that his boss would call me back.never happened, all I got was run around..and the last 2 weeks or so I have been calling both their #'s twice a day and leaving voicemail..the lot is over an hour from where I live so it's not like I can just drive over there real quick.especiall when I work over 40 hours a week..

    well that all blows.

try to get a better pic of the parts that came apart, so we can see what we're working with here.
