So the shift indicator in the console next to the shifter was apparently abused like the proverbial red headed step child at the family picnic, as it has multiple cracks and splits as if someone lost their temper with their keys in hand or something.

When I took the seats and whatnot out to put in the new carpet, I wrapped the poor broken shift indicator in the nearest carbon fiber vinyl wrap I had at hand just so it wouldn't look completely like ass.

And it looks better than whatever a previous owner did with smashing on it or whatever.

But I want it to look nicer, so does anyone offer a replacement?

Searches have told me stock replacements are found only with a replacement console.

Is is there no better option than the local pick a part?

    TIA

Might have a guy who can produce these with whatever font you want (Pontiac late 90's- early 00 font, etc). Will update thread.

That could be cool, depending on price. Wouldn't mind replacing my stock one as it's getting a bit worn.

I hear you, just take note of the word "might" in my post. People are sometimes unreliable, the guy is busy so we'll see. Personally, I'm thinking like 15 or 20 bucks is reasonable. I hate the idea of buying a whole console on eBay, etc. just to get the shifter plate thingy.

iirc someone here redid their own glass decal and installed a led light under it.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

I'm not sure glass is a good solution, maybe gorilla glass lol. As far as the LED, that should be an easy upgrade.

Ah, I see. That won't work for me since mine is in several pieces. I have found some plastic stock that could be cut to shape but I'd prefer to have a machine do it for accuracty and clean edges. I wonder if the 3D printing community could help out.
