Thread: inside the engine

I have taken apart 2 different 3800's one NA, one SC. and I have seen pictures from a lot of other 3800's on this site, can anyone tell me what this is and what it does?

That is called the "balance shaft". It helps cancel out vibrations inherent to a 90 degree v6.

on the right it looks like bearings, but I was certain that thing didn't spin, not enough clearance Clarence. Thanks Quick!
