Put the new radiator in check out the disgusting sludge in my old one. This substance lines the interior of the heater core hoses. I really doubt water well remove the thicker material collected inside the core. I've tried before many times even used the store flushes and look.... I'd hate to have bought a new rad/hoses/pump only to have that filthy heater core slowly contaminate the system again.
