Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
pop the intake tube off, have someone watch the blade inside tb if it moves while you push the gas pedal in the car. while its running as long as it can, floor it even.
didnt you have some tps code in the past? could be the gas pedal, or the tb sensor.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
I'm pretty sure the blade is moving if the car is reving when I hit the pedal right? Its not abnormal this time only that one time I turned it on after unplugging and recncting the big tb plug.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
if it revs thats good, but it would be nice to know it opens all the way when you floor it.
so is it running longer now? or better?

It runs very clean and quiet, when its turned on. Its not running any longer. I have an idea, remember how the tb sensor did not mate with the new tb(hitting the pedal wouldnt do anything)? Can i remove the plastic that the tb sensor plugs into and plug it into the newer tb and see what happens?
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
ive never opened one up, but i think theres a thread somewhere where a guy took it all apart. theres gears and stuff inside.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
im open to any suggestions
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
Does the TPS have to be aligned? Or can it go in wrong?
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
he didnt take that off th etb as far as i know, just swapped his old on on the new engine cause the other tb failed to work, once he swapped tb it was driving for a while, then this bs all started with the start /stall.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
Roger that. That's all I got. :(
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
is the tps the big plug on the side of the tb?
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
its the black box on the tb.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
looking around on line i dont even see the tps being sold alone, just the whole tb with the tps on it.
maybe a jy tb is in order, make sure the part # is the same.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
Im gna open the newer tb and attempt to mate it to the plastic part on old tb that sensor is on. Could this possibly help?
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
open it up and see what your dealing with. being the part # not being the same its why it didn't work in the first place. the gas pedal has to talk to the tps to work. drive by wire sucks sometimes.

Couldnt the new tb potentially work if it has the electric hardware from the older tb?
Do you think im onto something with the tb making that clicking noise when it stalls out?
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
i see what your saying. swap the tps to the new tb and try it.
inside is a actuator motor, thats the tps part. the tb part its self is likely fine. once you open it up you'll know better what your dealing with.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
i think it may be worth a try since it is a different series of numbers on tb and originally corresponds to that engine. i hope the wires match up theres a good vid on the tube with this specific tb where the guy opens it up and does a little walk thru.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
Bump, maybe someone who's had my problem will see this before I dig into my tb after work.
Re: Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)
I was looking through these

Most said maf sensor some mentioned a crank sensor, could this possibly be it?
