So here I am going out to my car (06 GPGT) and I soon realize my key fob has died all together. None of the buttons work so I just assumed I needed to replace my battery, easy day, or so I thought... When I went stick the ignition key into the door it ceased to unlock. As if the key is no longer programed to my lock system. Now I'm panicking a bit. Good thing I picked up a spare key a few months ago and had it cut and programmed it myself. I nevously approach the car praying it will unlock and to my surprise it works still. So I unlock and start the car for a test. Car starts, hooray... At least I can still use my car. So then I remove the spare key from the ignition and decide to try the key that doesn't seem to be unlocking the door. Strangely enough the car starts. So what I'm left with is one spare key that works, one original key that starts the car but doesn't unlock the door, and a keypad that has been rendered useless and can't say why. Keep in mind I already tried programming that key again in my ignition and it still doesn't seem to work at least on the door that is... I also bought a another key fob but have not had it programmed yet because im cheap and lazy about it. I read about an issue with GM key fobs that have problems with the buttons making contact to the surface of the circuit board, so I replaced the button pad on the original key fob with the one from the new keypad that I purchased a few months back and didnt have any luck in that department. What are my options thus far?
