This one is for my friend. So about a week ago, we changed the spark plugs on my friends 2006 Impala SS. We were able to get all of them changed, but during the process, the plastic PCV line that runs to the intake was snapped. So to fix it, we taped off the part not he intake so there isn't a vacuum leak, and we put a breather on the PCV. After all of this, his car is idling like it misfires. It will jump around and you can feel it. All the plugs and wires were changed, but it's not misfiring so it's not because of the spark plugs. So he's wondering if the PCV is the reason it's idling weird. Does that sound right? And what should he do to fix it?

Here's a vid he made of what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjksMS-P6zI

    can you retype that?

Fix the vacuum leak and PCV hose, plain and simple.

Just buy rubber tubing for the vacuum line to fix it, it's not rocket science.

Better lol? "As" was a poor choice of words. "Like" is better.

So the plastic end that comes out of the intake has a tube on it so the line can slip over it, but that part got snapped off too, so there's no way to reattach the line. That's why we did what we did.

Buy a new line then??? Like from a dealership.

Or figure out a way to get it to work again. It needs to have a working PCV system to function right.

See the black thing on the intake? That's one whole piece connected to the intake. The line isn't the problem, it's attaching the line to that piece because the attachment point snapped off.

I'd plastic weld a new barb/nipple onto it and attach a vacuum line. Or I'd break the old attachment point off, plastic weld it shut and drill a new hole in the top and plastic weld a barb ontop. Then put the vacuum line on there.

So an update, Austin JB-Welded that hose back in place and it's running a lot better. I guess we never thought somethig as small as a PCV hose could make a car run like crap.
