Synthetic....I did some more digging through all the system settings and found out our moderation options were turned off in admin CP....turned those on and now all managers, admins, mods can edit/delete any shout made by member. still working on if its possible to get them to dump into a forum as like 1 topic per day with all the shouts for the day so they would be searchable....so far not sure...but still digging. At least I found out how to edit/delete them....this topic helped me out in that respect.
invision's paraChat (its listed in our settings but I don't believe its used on our board) seems to be able to dump into a form like I said above...but ibSpeak doesn't seem to have that option....if that could be figured out, or if parachat will allow moderating...it might work for you...might want to check it out.
Cool, I'll bring that up and see what comes of it.
I also figured out that i could actually set up paralell user groups/permission settings like Member and Member NO SHOUTs to permanently bar an indavidual from the shoutbox based on permissions...havn't done it but its possible. would just have to edit that members profile from member to member no shouts group and make sure that group uses the no shouts permission settings.
ugh...all this digging has given me a headache...oh well some motrin and I will be good to go...anyway...got to run and get ready for work.
stop playing... we know you need midol... not motrin haha
BANNED (even though it isn't a Ban thread) for thinking I needed MIDOL...![]()
From what I have seen in the DHP chat, there isn't too much hardcore discussion. And the questions that are asked are covered many other places in the forum. I would expect the same to be true here, if chat were to develop.
quicklynx,
yeah I (well I guess we) knew...and it was funny!...I replied in kind :-) maybe I should have used this smileyafter the
one...sorry....I really did know you were kidding.
Zeff_66,
I think a bigger part of that is just the fact that most of the senior skilled members grew tired of hashing the same things out with everyone...constantly saying the same things over gets old and you get burned out on it and have no desire for any discussion even if it is an in depth one. As we have all said to the new PT owners (or rather new to them now) "search is your friend.) Also I think that the knowledge that there will never be any more features/tables etc added to the PowrTuner is the MAIN reason the forum died like it did...although recently we have had a bit of a pickup (which I am glad to see). I admit I don't get involved in discussions much over there...I actually shelved my tuner (per se') for well over a year...no scanning, no editing, no flashing etc....That site started as a tuning only site and well it suffered accordingly when DHP closed their doors and walked away from the PT. I have wanted to open it to the public, at least some of it to generate new interest, but I decided I really don't want to do that without Highlanders approval (it is his board after all)....on a side note I always thought the arcade would have taken away more from the in depth discussions but it didn't seem to, and its a cool feature not many car forums have.
