That has always been the plan. 3800/wbody only (this allows pregens, montes, regals, gxp, and of course 97-03)

What about the old grand nationals? Those had 3800s. It does it have to be 3800 and Wbody? That would exclude gxps...

Of course I would include GXPs and impalas too. I would just exclude guys who have moved onto subie and everything else or include them in a separate rotm.

So a short list would be...
    All grand prix's. Any year.
    And all W-body cars?

I would think any Gp and anything 3800 powered would cover it myself?

I don't give a flying **** what y'all do, but I'm going to laugh my ass off if I start seeing cars other than Grand Prix's start winning ride of the month on www.grandprixforums.net. There's a reason the other car forums I visit that are specific make/models only allow those make and models to enter, because the forum is specifically catered to those vehicles.

And if this opens up to everything you best damn believe I'm going to be entering my bicycle, scooter, pocket rocket, and my daughters Barbie doll power wheels jeep. Why? because they are all rides *****es.

Frankly, for a site this active, I'm surprised that an ROTM contest wasn't created years ago. However, I'd agree that it makes no sense to allow anything other than GPs (not even other w-bodies) to compete on a GP specific website. A forum exists for just about any car or platform you can think of out there, so I don't see why some seem to feel it's not fair if they can't enter a Cobalt or WRX to compete against GPs on a GP forum. If it were a generic car enthusiast site (i.e. the Chicago garage), it would make complete sense. But on a site made for a specific make and model? Can't really recall seeing that allowed for ROTM on any other forum I'm on.

I'd also agree that a no more than one win per year rule should be in place. I don't know that I'd go with being allowed to nominate other people's cars. That's putting the other person on the spot to provide pics and info on the car, or if they don't want to go through with it, having to decline the nomination. A minimum of 3 pics is good, but I'd put a cap on number of pics too because it might get annoying sifting through 15 pics for one car just to get to the next one. Cap of maybe 6? That should be enough for a few exterior shots, couple interiors and maybe an engine bay shot.

A lot of active members here are here for the 3.8 motor help and modding info and don't own a gp them selves anymore but own another 3.8 motor power car (for instance a certain moderator that remains nameless) and I think that they should be allowed.

That's is true though after reading RareGMfan quote, it is after all a Grand Prix sure. I agree with it being just Grand Prix now. Other wbodies like Regals, Impalas etc do have their own dedicated site they could go to if they wanted to enter something similar to rotm (if available).

I don't see guys leaving the site because they can't enter their car in rotm after all we haven't had it this hole time.

Letting other cars compete like subies, gtos which obviously look better then GP would be unfair to those who've decided to continue to mod/drive GPs.

Also I would implement some type of limit to how many cars can enter each month. Maybe 7-10 or so. So that there isn't 30 something cars entering each month.

Also if your rustbucket is covered in visible cancer all around have some respect and avoid entering. I kno you may take pride in your car but also keep in mind other members could of taken that spot and have a better chance at getting votes. I seen this happen so many times on gpona I stopped making a effort to vote.

Lets try to make it a fun thing and encourages guys/gals to continue modding and being creative with their pictures

    OK,
Any year/model/trim Grand Prix, but Grand Prix only.

You can nominate your car, or someone else's. However, IF you choose to nominate someone else's car you have to follow the same format. I suspect that most people will just nominate their own car, but I think we should keep the option to nominate another's car on the table. Some people either don't have a Grand Prix worthy of consideration, like myself, or don't own a Grand Prix period. (Like the members who will be excluded with rule 1.)

Min of 3 pictures, maximum of 6. Must include a mod list, if you're nominating someone else's car this can be obtained via signature, member's ride thread, or just asking the owner. A link to the member's ride thread will also suffice for mod list/build info, but nominations must still include 3 to 6 pictures.

After a car wins ROTM, it is no longer available for nomination for the rest of the year.

Only the first 10 nominations will be considered for ROTM. The nomination thread will be closed after the 10th car is nominated or when there is 1 week left in the current month, which ever occurs first. After the nomination thread is closed the poll will be open for voting, this will stay open until a specified time on the last day of the month.

Are we getting closer to a happy medium here?

Something just came to my mind that may or may not be a good idea..of course you guys decide. Since there's going to be a cut off after the 10th car how about putting a limit on how many times a car can enter months consecutively. My reasoning: a) in case the the 10 entries get filled before you have a opportunity to enter (life takes over and your busy for a few days etc.) b) keeps different cars in rotation c) prevents that one guy that will nominate himself and vote for himself and may be the only vote he gets but continues to repeat the process month after month..nominate himself...vote for himself etc etc.
