My reasoning: a) in case the the 10 entries get filled before you have a opportunity to enter (life takes over and your busy for a few days etc.) b) keeps different cars in rotation c) prevents that one guy that will nominate himself and vote for himself and may be the only vote he gets but continues to repeat the process month after month..nominate himself...vote for himself etc etc.
That's not a bad idea, but it would be kind of hard to make sure every car is nominated on a rotational basis. Maybe a rule where each individual cannot nominate the same car consecutively? It wouldn't be too hard for member's to remember what car they nominated the month before.

Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
If I remember right on the one forum I used to be on the rule was if you entered and lost, you couldn't enter again for 2 months. So basically, if you enter in January and lose, you can't enter again until April.
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
Grand Prix's only (any generation of course)
If nominated then that person must have a PM sent to them by the nominee, I'm not going to check a thread to see if I've been nominated
Limit nominations to the first 10 so we don't have a bajillion to choose from.
No self nominations, that's dumb if you're doing nominations
Limit number or repeats each month somehow
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
That would be a good idea that neither you or someone else can't nominate the same car say more then two month consecutively? Then you would have to sit out maybe a month or two then you can nominate/enter yourself again and so on and so forth. Gives that person time to hopefully mod further and take some different pictures instead of throwing the same picture up every time that you took 8 years ago. For the most part it should be rather easy to keep track of, us forum members should chip in for the most parts, most of us know what each others cars look like without having to look at avatars, sig etc. so its easy to throw up a red flag.
Keep a separate thread open for comments, anything related to rotm etc. Then have the actually entries in their own separate poll thread to post pictures and that's it.
Kind of adding more to the first part. Keep the nominees open for a week or until the 10 limit is reached. If there's ever a issues and say a nominee doesn't follow the rules you then either continue with the other 9 or throw in one of the other members who were nominated but wasn't able to get entered before the limit was reached.
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
hell I mean at every meet i go to no one knows peoples names they just know the cars lol
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
I personally find the nomination idea to be silly. You enter yourself, and only yourself.
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
Oh and current pics would be good. Not something from a few years ago when the car was still immaculate

I see that crap happen to many times on the other forums I'm apart of. I personally I haven't bothered entering any because I know my car needs a bit of TLC like the bumper needs to be replaced so rather wait until its back up to par then ill enter until then I sit out.
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
Ill enter my car tomorrow, she aint perfect but she's mine!
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
Minor things are fine. I'm talking more major things.

There's a bunch of stuff on my car that's custom, either intentional or accidental lol
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
How about also, once the ten nominations have been picked, absolutely NO knocking of any of the nominees be allowed? i.e. "Corners aren't cleared, I would never vote for a vehicle without cleared corners", or "where you drunk when you painted your car?" Let's just let the votes speak for themselves? another possible idea, is if a vehicle has been nominated X times in a row, say three, then no more nominations for the rest of the year, or unless a majoe mod has been completed?? I don't know, just ideas.
Re: Gauging interest in a ROTM contest.
That's why there's a voting thread and comment thread.
