My friend and I are on the search for getting him a Miata, so after scrolling through page after page on ebay and Clist, I google miata forums, I come across miata . net, and this is their homepage.

I liked the overall idea of it and was wondering if it would be a good thing to have on GPF, as sort of a Prologue for non-registered users.

*I copied this straight from there site.*

    Welcome to Miata.net's User Community!

If you're a first time visitor, please read this before entering the forum...
Welcome to the world's largest community of MX-5 Miata enthusiasts. We're sure you'll end up spending more time here than you thought. Before jumping in, there are a few things you need to know to make your experience (as well as the experience of the other users) a positive one.

    • Please read the forum rules. Unlike many other forums, we are strict about our rules and enforce them vigorously with little tolerance for those who deliberately ignore them.
    • If you won't do anything else, at least read the MX-5 Miata Forum FAQ. If you post a question that is already answered in the FAQ, you will be teased, ridiculed, laughed at, and probably won't feel too comfortable on the forum.
    • MX-5 Miata Forum is part of Miata.net. If you haven't yet visited Miata.net, or are not yet familiar with it, please go there first. There is a wealth of information and it will be very helpful to be familiar with its offerings before becoming involved in the forum. Miata.net also has abrief intro for new users.
    • If you came here because you have a specific question or problem with your MX-5 Miata, please read the Miata.net Frequently Asked Questions, the MX-5 Miata Forum FAQ, as well as the Miata.net Garage.
    • MX-5 Miata Forum has a search feature. It's often helpful to run a search to see if your question has been asked and answered by someone else previously. Most questions have been.
    • When you post, please do so in the most appropriate section. Please use a Subject that is descriptive. Don't force people to open the thread to find out what the topic is.

like i said, I like the idea of this, and was just wondering if you guys had had something like this, or do have something like this.
or had it and dont like the idea of it.

Let me know what you guys think!

    thanks!

I joined xda developers the other day, they had a kick butt you tube vid embedded on their registration page. Covered the noob issue and noob beatings by frustrated vets pretty well.

Issue is ... people don't read, they don't search, they just want instant gratification and answeres. There is a mentallity in the US these days about entitlement.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Probably the same video we have over on the 3/S forums. Once you register you have to post in the "Registration thread" to get activated to view the full forums. The first post has an awesome noob thread.
