Mine doesn't stick into intake. Mine is modeled after the old ILGPC IC. Before even that one above existed. I belive it is literally the original production full size IC for these cars. ILGPC made theirs, then ZZP/WBS/Intense all got in on it. This was made in the very early 2000's.
Back in the day, Intense and W Body Store used the same machine shop to make the IC's. Mine was purchased from WBS, however, there is a funny catch.
WBS had their lines come straight out, no snout bolt hole in the plate, just smooth across the end. Intense had an extra big chunk, which made the hose ports point over each valve cover. Mine was technically an Intense IC, purchased from WBS, and the machine shop shipped the wrong one in the box when it was new. There is an old thread about it on CGP with WBS chiming in, etc, funny stuff. Anyway, I modified it further by trimming that block down, and making the hoses go straight out through the belt area (shaved about 3lbs off it too, it wasnt hollow in there!). That block the hose ports screw into is normally not there at all on a WBS IC, and twice as big on an Intense IC, with the hoses going out each side of the block.
I then had a machine shop a few years back, in NY, put a bar and plate core in there when the original "heater core" failed and cracked. They did a bunch of these conversions on the old Intense/WBS IC's. IRC Fabrication, I think they were a sponsor or something here years ago. It now has a lifetime warranty on it. They also polished it down for me, so the outer visible edge is nice and shiny.
So in the end, that is now this IC became as unique as it is....
