    Bump

Got some more parts today. Valve body kit and accumulator piston seal. Rebuild kit was missing one, and because I'm not a crook I ordered one. $6 is a small price to keep my integrity.

I may do another one. Won't be anytime soon though. They're so time consuming.

    And free extra bumps.
    I'll take 'em.

Ha! I just hope if someone wants an input shaft or chain upgrade, they get me before I complete the build.

Parts from TEP came today. Should be able to make some more progress.

I didn't realize how beat the check ball holes were in the old separator plate until after I scrapped the gaskets off, so I decided to pitch it. Looks like this one is getting the bonded separator plate and torlon ball upgrade for free.

Transmission builds are brutally time consuming.

Well, it looks like this thing is getting the input clutch upgrade. The trans shop gave me the wrong input steels, which lead me to dig through my stash of extra stuff. Turns out I had 5 thin steels and one clutch on hand. That along with the 4 clutches I already had put me back in business.

Focus Scotty. We're talking about the trans here.

But since you brought it up... Do you need one? Everything I own is for sale!

    Bump...

Because final drive end play matters to me, I ordered up the proper selective washer

Between 0.006" and 0.012" is the tolerance. I'm satisfied with this

Minimum distance for chain to case is 1/8" (0.125"). At 5/16" (0.3125"), I'm comfortable using the original chain

LAST CALL before I button it up... After Friday, I'm going to charge a little extra labor to install a shaft or 7/8" chain set.

Gonna take a little poll here...

I need to replace the pan due to the junkyard poking a hole in the original one during the fluid capture process.

I can get an OE AC Delco pan for $33, or a Dorman with a drain plug for $5 more. I figured the cost of a new pan into the overall price of the trans, so either one won't change the final price. What I'm wondering is; Would you, as a Grand Prix owner, prefer a standard pan, or the one with a drain plug?
