After a few hours of sitting in the driveway, I noticed a nice little puddle when I moved my Grand Prix (02 V6). Got under the car and saw the belly of the engine was caked with oil. Wonderful. Top of the engine is clear, no oil to be seen anywhere.

It's a few weeks until I'll the have free cash to take it into the shop, but I also don't think that pouring a buncha oil in and crossing my fingers is very smart. From the pictures, it looks like something more than a leaky gasket. Look familiar to anyone??

    Thanks

get some degreaser and clean the engine up, then watch for a nice new trail of oil to form and follow it.

leaking valve covers can make a mess like that too.

    3.1's always leak it seems.

I'd guess at oil pan gasket or even a loose filter. But it needs a deep clean to determine where the leak is coming from and it looks like it's been leaking for a long time now.
