    i have a 02 gtp with 172k on it has a coolant leak right inside passenger tire area im thinking its the intake gaskets since they tend to go bad. i need some help on all of which i need to buy to do this looking to do on sunday. or does anyone else know what it could be? maybe a bad fitting or connection down on the block? i wont waste money on something i can do in my garage any help would go a long way guys

    look at the heater fittings (coolant elbows). I would replace them first. 30 min job at most and only a couple bucks to replace.

    after you get done looking at the elbows, remove the belts, and check the water pump pulley for excessive movement, side to side, and wetness on top and under the water pump.

    when my pump went it left a strip on the hood.

    if you are seeing a puddle i doubt its the lim leaking that bad.

    x2 on what has been said, lim gaskets generally leak into the oil or cylinders not onto the ground/

    okay i will have a look at it i bought the coolant elbows today so im going to be replacing them tmrw after i get off work. I dont have any coolant in the oil and the gaskets were changed at 110k mark i have been told. if it is the water pump how hard is that too replace? ill be sure to let you guys know what happens when i get it done. hope ya all have a good xmas

    water pump is easy to replace. if the coolant elbows are bad, there will be coolant on top of the water pump. so it may not be the water pump. change the elbows, dry up that area, and check to see if it gets wet again.

    With that many miles, it would be a good idea to replace the coolant elbows and the lim gasket while your in there
    Open cone, SSAC headers, cat delete, 8.5 MSD wires, 3.4 zzp mps, 180*, 104's, ported blower, DHP canned tune, 19" XXR 962s, DNA springs.

    okay so i replaced the water pump and coolant elbows, now i have to bleed the system and im not quite sure how to do i just turn the screw on top of the thermostat until coolant starts coming out or what?
