    Hey everyone,
I just had my N/A 3800 series II engine go out in my 97' grand prix. I was wanting to do an engine swap and it seems like my options are are follows:
    - 3800 N/A
    - 3800 Supercharged
    - LS4
I was hoping for any opinions to help with my decision making and maybe someone's first had experience.
I have done work on cars before and am comfortable with turning wrenches. I do want to make some more power out of my car once done but don't want to spend months on the process. Right now I am leaning toward trying to put in a L67.
    Thanks for any help.

97's with the NA engine run a vacuum like down to the transmission and those are generally the weakest because it's a 4T60e where as the next year later they are 4T65's. You'd need to swap in a 4T65e-HD transmission if you really want this to work, then run a L67 computer.

Wow, yeah, I totally forgot about that vacuum line. Guess I will need a transmission too. Do you know if the boost display in the car will work, or is there something special I have to do to hook that up. Any other comments would be great too.

    Thanks

if the car's worth saving and modding, drop in a 98-2002 L67 including trans and harness. This combo would be easiest to mod and tune and you avoid the idiosyncrasy of the 2003+ PCM / trans.

Yes, sadly. Im in CA so it has to be smogged every 2 years. The last time I got it tested was 3 months ago so I have a while, but I hope on keeping the car. Everything else is in good shape.
Any tips on buying a used engine?
good websites or anything like that?
