    Well I dont know how safe it would be to use, but since the water spots are caused by calcium deposits mainly, maybe something like CLR would take them out. However, I dont know safe it would be on the paint.

    That is what it sounds like to me is hard water, it is real bad in my town and if you wash your car and let the water dry on the windows it is a pain to get off. I actually have to CLR my faucets and shower heads to get it off of those, maybe next year we can have the $$ for a water softener.
