Hi my mechanic informed me today that it will cost 1,100 in parts alone for Bilstein springs, shocks and upper mounts. I tried to search online for discounted or compatible ones but there are nothing for 06 GXP's only the non-GXP versions. Are there any places that sell the discounted Bilstein stuff I need? Are there compatible, just as good other brands? If so where can I get them, what model should I look for?

Bilstein doesn't make the springs or the top mounts, just the struts. You can find them on Amazon pretty cheap. You can use your current springs and PROBABLY your current mounts. The rears don't normally get that damaged. let me see if I can find the link for the struts...

If the dumbass wanted to charge you $1100 for struts walk away. No RUN away. Do it yourself or take it to someone else.

Do em at your dad's house. Rent some spring compressors, take the top mount off, move the boot\bumpstop over to the new strut, move the spring over, put the top mount on the new strut, release the spring compressor, put strut back in.

Just outta curiosity what happened to the rear suspension that it failed, usually fronts go out way before rears..I have 120k on my gxp all orginal strutd..it's not new but the suspension still works...I bought new bilsteins and will be lowering it this summer but mine is still fine.
