Thread: monster trailing arm upgrade **cheap**

Ok gp family, for a cost of 21.99 per arm and a couple of bushings you can have trail8ng arms that surpass any upgrades currently available. If you have a tractor supply or cal ranch store near ypu then these are readuly available. All others must order them.

Parts list of what youll need
2x toplink cat 1 part number 0267759.
The bushings will have to reduce from the 3/4 in bolt hole. So for the rear bolt i used 3/4 to 5/8 bushing (also found next to the links) part # 0269002 x2

The front bolt for the actual bracket, i chose to make accept a 1/2 bolt which required a very slight reaming of the bracket. Its on you how far you want to offsett left or right to cleqr your tires. Im on 245s in the rear 7"rim standard gxp rim.

Bushing will need to be from 3/4 od to 1/2.

Other things i should lve bought at the time were nuts for both rod ends to keep them locked.

Anyway this is how itll came together.

you will wanna go to mcmaster and get a couple acme thread jam nuts or those things are gonna eat threads and get sloppy

its a nearly worthless mod, they are only ever under load when braking...its tension loading...and the rear brakes do maybe 30% of the work.

This leads into lateral arms too. The same same can be done. And i mean if your actually driving your gp around with brembos upfront and gxp rotors in the back you need all the stability you can get. Minimizing deflection has been my goal since i started playing with ny suspension.

Plus its stupid cheap. About the same price as a set of neww gmpp ones

I mean, I'm sure it doesn't HURT anything...but aren't the 9C1 or whatever police package arms solid and wouldn't be so...massive?

If anything given the adjustable length you can jist use a rear spacer and get all the room youd ever need. Iirc 9c1 and gxp arms are the exact same

A worthwhile upgrade considering how cheap they can be put together for. Yes the gmpp TA can be had for cheap via JY but these are much more beefier and probably cost less. Glad you decided to post this had my eyes on some arraut motorsports ones for a future purchase. Next are the lateral arms

speedway motors has threaded steel tube (swedged or non) as well as threaded alum hex's in every length youd need to use std cheap steel on steel heim joints or teflon if you dont like noise...they even offer bushing ends too

youd be able to make every link, and make em lighter while being just as strong....adding that much weight to the unsprung side would be counter productive to improving handling

Damn, that's huge..

Is that made out of steal? With it being hollow I assume is it any better?
