the mounts just sit in the frame, the bolt just makes a rubber and steel sandwich.
Get to it! Hurry before Monday comes and Bill sees this!
lets bully him now red lol do it!!!!!!
WTF, Im gone
thought we were brothers, LOL
lol
You had 2 days to get it done.. Since you made this thread. Get on it now now now! Stop lollygagging around!
I think ima order some liquid polly and use that to make some.
Anyone care to post the part # for the bushing so I don't have to go searching for them.
Subframe mounts:
rear upper- GM 10249731
rear lower- GM 10248771
DorMan Rear: 924-045
Front:
GM 10023412
DorMan 924-006
I once used the front Dorman bc at the time it was cheaper and I could only find the front mounts in Dorman brand. Good luck on finding the Rear in any other brand other than GM. So at the time going Dorman up front and GM in the rear saved me some change. but as you can see via part# they now have the Dorman mounts for the rear and front(well I just found the rear after years of searching). but what I have also found out is that GM now sells front and rear mounts for around the same price as the Dorman give or take $10 which is mainly tax. So I now have new original GM mounts for the LS which I just paid a fraction of what I paid for my GM mounts on the GS just under 2yrs ago. Go for the GM, hopefully your local dealer has them and are selling them at the same price as I got mine. RockAuto only has the front(weird), Dorman site only as the front as most sites(weird and dumb), but the almighty AMAZON has both front and rear...just type in the dorman part# GM part# may work also
I'd do it the same way I did it on Bonne..
Put your jack under the center of the front subframe and unbolt both sides.. lower a bit while watching things from above/below. Slow is your friend.
Reach up.. put new in .. bolt back up.
Yeah it was easy, lol but you guys had made it seem like there was no possibility of the two front passenger and driver side mounts couldn't have been seized in there. I was just worried of what I was going to use to get them out.
You never know, these W-bodies like to surprise you sometimes......LOL
Rear mounts are typically pressed in from the top. Fronts on these are usually much easier, especially the top piece.
I admitted that the subframe mounts were easy but the most fwd mounts near the radiator support are killing me. The metal lip that im pointing at circling this new mount is the same lip on this old mount that wont break loose to allow me to yank this mount out. I've used PB blaster and every tool that I have. Ive been biting at the rubber for a while now but the metal bore sleeve is being stubborn too.
Any ideas before Monday gets here, sucks bc majority of the mount is damaged so driving the car this way is not safe
