IF YOU ARE SEARCHING DOWN SENSOR OR WIRING ISSUES I LEARNED THE HARD WAY HOW TO TEST THE WIRING AND WHEEL SENSORS ALL IN ONE TEST.
I HAVE BEEN TRACKING DOWN THIS LITTLE ISSUE FOR SOME TIME NOW. I HAVE A SCANNER THAT DOES ABS. IT WAS GIVING ME RIGHT FRONT SPEED SENSOR SUPPLY SUBFAULT, SO I WAS TROUBLESHOOTING RIGHT SIDE FRONT WHEEL.
I REPLACED FRONT BEARING HUBS BOTH SIDES WHICH IT DID NEED DUE TO ROARING WHILE AT HIGH
SPEEDS. THIS DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH ABS LIGHT. I THEN REPLACED HARNESS ON THE RIGHT SIDE, SAME THING ABS LIGHT STILL ON. I THOUGHT WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE. I GOT OUT THE WIRING DIAGRAMS ON THE ABS. I FOUND THE WHEEL SENSOR WIRES ON THE EBCM MAIN PLUG. IF YOU LOOK VERY CLOSE THEY ARE NUMBERED.
IN MY CASE MY( RF NUMBER 4 & 5),( RR 2 & 3),( LF 20 & 21), (LR 22 & 23). I GOT OUT MY METER AND TESTED 2 & 3, IT WAS LIKE 650 OHMS, 4 & 5 WAS 660, AND 22 & 23 WAS 656, 20 & 21 WAS 2.354 OHMS.
I THEN KNEW THE PROBLEM WAS ON THE LF INSTEAD OF THE RF. I GOT UNDER MY CAR AND PULLED THE WIRES OUT OF THE PLASTIC LOOM, ONE OF THE WIRES WAS BROKE INHALF.
AFTER I REPLACED THE HARNESS ON THAT SIDE NO MORE ISSUES.
I DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD CAUSE MY SCANNER TO GIVE A RIGHT FRONT CODE WHEN THE ISSUE WAS THE LEFT FRONT. THAT IS WHAT GOT ME SO CONFUSED. IF YOU SCAN AND GET A CERTIN WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAULT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO DO THIS SIMPLE LITTLE TEST, IT DOSENT TAKE A FEW MINS BEFORE YOU START BUYING PARTS.
