So I'm doing struts/springs this summer and I'm starting to shop around now. From what I've read in the lowering thread I think I want to go with the WBS springs. Only problem I have though is that thread says 1.6" drop front and rear and their website says 1.5" front and 1" rear. Also wondering where the spring rate was found for them because I don't see that on their site. I'm a little weary buying from WBS since they're known to rebrand products with their name and want to make sure I'm really getting what is advertised. If anyone has had some experience with these I'd really like some feedback about them before spending $200 on them.

A lot of people buy Vogtland springs and if I had a W-body, that's what I'd be buying. They dropped the car just right and rode very well.

Do yourself a favor and buy springs somewhere else.
You can do Vogtlands, SSCs, etc...

I've heard that the Vogtland springs take forever to get to you after ordering which is why I ruled them out. And other springs like SSC I don't really like the way they look. The rear always looks like it's sagging even though it's supposedly the same. That's why I liked the WBS lowered the front a .5" more.

sagging is because the fenders are shaped differently and the springs drop basically an even amount.

    Wbodystore springs are SSC springs.

Had them in a nice SSC box with branding on each spring.

That's what I figured I just really don't like the way it looks. If anything I'd like the back slightly higher but originally liked the WBS springs because that .5" difference I thought it'd make it look normal.

That's exactly what I was afraid of. Sounds like WBS is a very sketchy place to order everything from. I get re-branding things to make money but their descriptions aren't very honest.

Taking someone else's design and brand, scratching their name off, and then putting yours on it IMO is theft.

From everything I'd read I thought it was really bad to cut springs?

Except when the mfg allows you to do so. Happens all the time.

it's not recommended by anyone who actually knows how suspensions work and what not, but people do it all the time. the issue is the spring no longer seats nicely because you end up cutting off the flat end that sits in the spring perch.
