After going to just tires for some new rubber and an alignment, the tech told me I need a new drivers side ball joint and sway bar end link. He showed me the play in the tire and it seems legit, except for the price. I am going to replace the whole lower control arm and not deal with the rivets, but my main concern is do I need to replace the sway bar end link? Any other advice or tips I should know?

    Moog Lower Control Arm

    Moog Sway Bar End Link?

    Thanks in advance.

Both, replacing things in pairs is a good practice. Because if you don't the other side parts will miss the old ones and self destruct right after replacing just one lol. Wheel bearings are the most common for doing that.

Oh they get lonely and depressed. Another quick question what about lube for the bushings and ball joint.

They should be non serviceable, so no need to worry about grease.

One more question, whats the difference between these two. From what I see one comes pre-made and has different bushings and the other is a "kit".

If you have a 98 like in your forum name then you want part #K5342. I've never seen that white bushing style before.

According to moog's website they're polyurethane bushings.

Well with the blue ones, if you tighten them right down til it stops there's no way there's any flex in those bushings. They get hard when they compress. Just put a pair on a buick yesterday, I like em.

The Moogs I got you had to grease the ball joints. They did not have any grease in them.

The moog lca's? That's possible, aftermarket's usually do on the ball joint, the end links are not a ball and socket style.

Yup, I think the dormans even have greasable ball joints in their lcas.

There are a couple version of moog LCA's. The one's with grease fittings are more expensive. The cheaper priceed one's don't have them. The dormans also don't have them.
