I was driving when all of a sudden a rubbing noise started by the rear pass. tire. Before this happened I was having some clanking noise in the same area every time I hit a bump. Anyone with this issue before? I am thinking its part of the suspension and bushings of some sort just giving out from old age. I also reversed and cut the wheel and a popping noise came from same area like metal on metal. I will check it out asap. Thx in advanced.

take the wheel off and look for rubbing in the wheel well. also check for a broken strut spring. if the tire is rubbing it will also show signs of it rubbing.

id jack it up and spin the wheel before taking the wheel off, listening for any sounds.

also push and pull on the wheel when its jacked up if its moving left and right or top to bottom, somethings not right. could be a hub even.
